Silver Francis is a full-time American oil painter. Over years of experimentation, she has developed a unique style of contemporary impressionism in which textured strokes of paint flow seamlessly into one another. Silver calls this technique “fluid impressionism”, as she allows the shape and movement of her subjects to inspire how each stroke melts into the next. She often contrasts impressionism with realism to create a more surreal visual experience. 

 

Nature is Silver’s muse and inspiration. With oil, pigment, and paintbrush, she brings her impression of the natural world to life in vibrant detail. She often amplifies and enhances her subjects, highlighting the power and emotion contained within them. Through her work, Silver explores themes that are fundamental to nature and the human experience such as creation, regeneration, hope, unity, and love.
